Cleaning the Bathroom: Top Tips
by Janine, Feb 2023Cleaning the bathroom is a task that many people dread, but it is an important part of maintaining a healthy and hygienic home. Regular bathroom cleaning helps to remove dirt, grime, and germs, ensuring that the space stays fresh and free of harmful bacteria. With the right tools, techniques, and a bit of elbow grease, cleaning the bathroom can be quick and easy!
Here are some tips to help you get started:
Gather your supplies:
To clean the bathroom effectively, you’ll need a few key items such as cleaning spray, a scrubbing brush, warm water, a squeegee, and several microfiber cloths. (Click here to read our blog on cleaning your microfiber cloths)
Clear the clutter:
Start by removing any items from the counters, sink, and bathtub. This will make cleaning your bathroom easier and more efficient.
Tackle the shower and bathtub first:
Spray the walls and floor of the shower or tub with cleaning spray, and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, use the scrubbing brush to remove any soap scum or grime. Rinse with warm water and if you have one, use a squeegee to remove excess water from the surfaces.
Clean the sink and counters:
Spray the sink and counters with cleaning spray, and wipe down with a microfiber cloth. Make sure to clean the tap and handles too.
Clean the toilet:
Spray the toilet bowl with an antibacterial spray (we love Method’s bathroom cleaner) and let it sit for a few minutes and then use a scrubbing brush to remove any dirt or stains. If you like to use bleach, spray some down the loo at this point and let it work its magic! Also, don’t forget to clean the base of the toilet as well.
Mop the floor:
Use a mop or a damp cloth to clean the floor. Pay attention to the areas around the toilet, as this is where germs are most likely to accumulate.
Finish up:
Once you’ve finished cleaning, give the bathroom a final wipe down with a microfiber cloth. This will help to remove any streaks and leave the surfaces sparkling clean. You might even consider using glass cleaning spray on the shower doors and chrome fixtures to give a final shine.
With these tips in mind, having a clean bathroom should be a quick and easy task that you can tackle in no time.
