Helping the planet little by little

by Well Polished Wrexham, Apr 2019

Since David Attenborough showed us how our waste affects the planet and the amazing creatures who live in the deep, the whole of the UK has definitely started to be more mindful about recycling.

Here in Wrexham, we’re doing out bit and weekly food waste collections have now been rolled out across all areas.

Thanks to funding from the Welsh Government Wrexham Council can now deliver free complimentary liners to all households. A roll of liners should last the average family approximately 17 weeks.

Any residents who need further liners after the 17 weeks can just tie a liner to the handle of the kerbside caddy on collection day!

Alternatively, you can collect further compostable liners from any of the 3 household recycling centres. Bryn Lane Wrexham Industrial Estate, the Lodge Brymbo and Wynnstay Bank Plas Madoc.

It might not seem like a huge thing, and it’s definitely a very simple task to do personally, but these little changes we make can create a HUGE difference to our planet. And realistically, how hard is it to scrape your food into a caddy instead of the main bin!?
