A sea of pink will flood Tilgate Park this Saturday 22 and Sunday 23June 2019 as the Annual Race for Life in Crawley gets underway with the option to take part in 5k, 10k or pretty muddy versions of the fundraiser in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is a series of events held to raise money for research in to all two hundred types of cancer – and this year for the first time, men are able to take part!

All three events take part at Tilgate Park, located at Titmus Drive in Crawley RH10 5PQ.

5k and 10k Run

Both of these races start at 11.00 am on Saturday morning.  Entrance fee is £14.99 for adults and £10 for children with boys and girls under 6 being free (no registration required).   Click her to register.

The starting line is located on the grass between the Play Park and Tilgate Lake, and route includes paths through the woodland and around the lake.  Most of the route is on pathways or road with just a few woodland paths to navigate.   The 10K route is a double lap of the 5K route, with plenty of supporters there to cheer you on.

Pretty Muddy

The Pretty Muddy version takes place on Sunday morning and as you would expect from the name, this is a muddy obstacle course covering 5K where participants scramble over the A-frame and crawl through the mud pit!    There is both a children’s event and an event for the adults.  Children must be over 1.2 m to take part and over 13 if they wish to join in with the adult version.  Entrance fee for this is £19.99 for adults and £10 for children.  Click her to register.

As there is limited parking available at the event in Gainsborough Field which is a short walk away from the main event site, event organisers are recommending the use of public transport.   The park and ride service from the town centre is no longer in operation, so please use the metrobus service instead (and remember if you are taking part in Pretty Muddy please bring a change of clothes with you or a bin bag to sit on if you are using the public service).    If you do decide to come by car (not recommended) you will not be able to drive through Tilgate Park, so for access use Titmus Drive via Ashdown Drive where stewards will be able to direct you.

Good luck to everyone taking part and raising money for such a good cause.
