New Hall Millby Charlotte Edge, Sep 2019
Birmingham Heritage week is an 11 day event with a variety of exhibitions, walks, open days and workshops.
Specifically, we wanted to talk about New Hall Mill. One of only two fully working water mills in the West Midlands, maintained by the friends of New Hall Mill who also operate it during it’s regular open days.
Open on Sunday 22nd September 2019 at 10am-4pm, as part of the Birmingham heritage week. During your visit you can have a wander around and watch the wheat being milled into flour using water power and mill stones. Once you have explored the mill you can visit their tearoom for a slice of cake and a cup of tea! If the weather is nice you can even sit outside with a picnic and admire the beautiful meadow.
After your visit to the mill take a stroll around New Hall Valley Park, with plenty of wildlife to be seen such as: herons, ducks, woodpeckers and even muntjac deer! Why don’t you see what you can spot?
What better way to spend a Sunday than learning a bit about our local heritage? With the event also being free we have no excuses!
