Irish Film Festival Returns to Londonby Mia Gordon, Nov 2018
The beloved Irish Film Festival is returning to London for the 8th year in a row. It will present both mainstream and indie films from Ireland for 5 days with discussions and all-star panels.
“Ireland’s place in the global film industry is growing year by year” said director Kelly O’Connor.
‘In Bruges’ and’ Seven Psychopaths’ star and Irish actor, Colin Farrell, has been announced as the latest patron of the event.
The first film to be shown will be documentary on love letters that have stood the test of time, ‘Smithy & Dickie’. Second in the line-up is ‘Under the Clock’, which tells the story of lovers who met under a (you guessed it!) clock. In fact, one of the most famous Irish landmarks: Clerys clock.
The festival is set to finish on Sunday with ‘We Ourselves’ being the closing film, starring Aiden Gillen, Catherine Walker, Declan Conlon and many more. The story follows multiple people who follow their own careers and paths in life, while sharing a common culture and country.
If you’re in South West London this weekend, make sure not to miss out on some brilliant Irish cinema!
