Furry Friends Strut their Stuff at Collars and Coats Gala Ballby Well Polished South West London, Nov 2018
A one of a kind fashion fundraiser took place at Battersea Evolution recently: the 10th annual Collars and Coats gala ball.
World-renowned fashion designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Matthew Williamson and Lulu Guinness worked tirelessly to create some lovely garments for our canine companions.
The coats were then sold in auction in order to raise money to help vulnerable cats and dogs and secure their future.
The chief executive of the organisation responsible, Battersea, is Claire Horton. She had the following to say about the event:
“There really is no event like Battersea’s Collars & Coats Gala Ball. Over ten years our now world-famous charity fundraiser has got bigger and better, but one thing never changes and that’s the focus on our dogs and cats, who are the real superstars, and the reason everyone joins us on this one sparkling night of fun and entertainment.”
Many celebrities, such as David Gandy, Amanda Abbington and Dame Jacqueline Wilson were in attendance to show their support for the cause. Kristy Gallacher hosted the event and it featured a performance from Billy Ocean.
The gala was in celebration of the successful rehoming of over 7,000 dogs and cats and saw many people bringing their pups to take a turn on the ironically named catwalk.
The work Battersea are doing is clearly important and the success of the event was particularly impressive.
