British Ironwork Centre

by Emma Oswestry, Oct 2018

Oswestry is such an exciting place with loads to see. We decided to take a look around and visit some of the local attractions, starting with the British Ironwork Centre.

As the number 1 attraction on Trip Advisor, we knew this would be a great day out!

The Bristish Ironwork Centre showcases some of the countries most intricate and impressive iron works, from the top black smiths. It costs £1 to enter, unless you have a membership card. We managed to see all the sights in about 2 hours, which was plenty of time to take it all in.

A particular favourite of ours, was the “Knife Angel”. This is a huge structure of an angel, using over 100,000 weapons that have been confiscated from the streets of the UK.  It really is spectacular to see!

There are plenty of friendly staff members about, who will tell you about the interesting stories behind each individual sculpture.

We would highly recommend a cream scone from the reasonably priced café too
