Take Back Sundaysby Janine, Feb 2017
Supposedly intended as a day of rest, Sundays have became more of a source of anxiety and dread for many people. In fact, 76 percent of those surveyed in 2016 reported suffering from the “Sunday Night Blues.”
We’ve spoken about this phenomenon in the Well Polished blog before, and more specifically, small ways to beat the blues…
However, the overriding factor for most people’s SNB’s is that…
they. do. not. want. to. go. to. work. on. Monday.
This is tough. We’ve all got to make a living and unfortunately, the majority of careers feature a 9-5 rota and Monday mornings are an unavoidable evil…
OR are they?
We spoke with several of our successful franchisees on their feelings towards Mondays, since they started their Well Polished territory.
‘Monday is just another day now. I don’t feel anxious or depressed on a Sunday anymore… nor do I feel like I can’t go out and do things as I need to conserve my energy. The working day starts when I say it does!’
‘I actually look forward to the start of a new week. Running my franchise isn’t a chore – I enjoy it – and when you’re doing something you enjoy, it’s easy to wake up at 7am on Monday morning and face the day!’
‘I always plan my week so that Mondays are quiet and almost an extension to the weekend. I’ll treat myself to a lie in on a Monday, especially after a busy weekend, and make sure my cleaner interviews or client consultations are scheduled for a Tuesday or thereafter!’
Melissa, Tunbridge Wells
With a Well Polished franchise, you’re the boss and you plan your own schedule. Every franchisee has their own quirks and ideas on how to best manage their time – but that’s exactly what it is… THEIR time.
