Three of our Favourite Cocktails

We all know someone who loves a cocktail and even more so in the summer.   At Well Polished Crawley we have voted the following three as our favourites for this summer.   We have included the ingredients so that you too can enjoy them (hic!)


An old favourite amongst us all, as it really does feel more like a smoothie than an alcoholic drink (well, that is our excuse anyway!)  This is a classic tropical cocktail which has been a favourite with many for years with its distinctive look and taste, a wonderful blend of coconut milk, rum and pineapple juice.

Blend three parts pineapple juice, with one part white rum and one part coconut milk and garnsish with a maraschino cherry or a pineapple slice!


Traditionally made with lime, but over the years has been adapted to include raspberry, strawberry and peach versions, usually served iced cold and generally service in a salt rimmed glass, this is a firm favourite for a refreshing drink especially in the warmer summer months.

To prepare, rub the rim of the glass with a slice of lime to make the salt stick to it, mix two parts tequila with one part lime juice and one part cointreau taking care not to dislodge the salt when pouring into the glass.   In addition to the salt, add a slice of lime to garnish.


Well known for its fresh minty taste generally served over crushed ice, and with a relatively low alcohol content making it another favourite for the summer.  Top tip when making a mojito is to always crush the mint leaves which will help to unlock the oils thus enhancing the minty flavour even more.

To make this cocktail, mix one part rum with six leaves of crushed mint, one part fresh lime juice and add two parts soda water and garnish with some whole mint leaves.
