Duke and Duchess of Sussex name their son!by Julie Kempson, May 2019
It’s been an amazing couple of days for the young Duke and Duchess of Sussex. You can’t deny how exciting everybody finds the birth of a new baby! Here at Well Polished Crawley we have been following events as they have happened.
Born in the early hours of 6th May and weighing in at 7lbs and 3oz (3.2 kgs) – lighter than his cousins, Meghan has said “He has the sweetest temperament, he’s really calm. He’s been the dream.”
And yesterday, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed the name of their new son – Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
By naming their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, Harry and Meghan have chosen not to use a title for their first born. The new born is 7th in line to the throne and could have received one of various titles including Earl of Dumbarton or Lord Archie Mountbatten Windsor, but instead he will be known quite simply as Master Archie Mountbatten Windsor.
As Meghan has US citizenship she can pass on her citizenship to Master Archie, and with Harry being obviously British, baby Archie will have dual citizenship.
The Queen and Prince Philip met their 8th and newest great grandchild for the first time at Windsor Castle, and during an official visit to Germany with the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Charles said “We couldn’t be more delighted at the news and we’re looking forward to meeting the baby when we return.”
From us all at Well Polished Crawley, a warm welcome to the world Master Archie!
