Hoole May Day Festivalby Janine Campbell (Chester), Apr 2016
The Hoole Quarter May Day festival takes place this Sunday (1st May) and is promising to bring together good food and live music with arts and crafts!
The small village has a Community Fundraising Team known as ‘Notting Hoole’, which won £5,000 in The British High Street Awards back in 2015 for being awarded ‘Best Newcomer’. These winnings are what funds the much loved festival, as agreed by all local businesses.
The festival will feature hot and cold food stalls, local artists, craft stalls, live music, buskers and children’s entertainers.
They are also holding a children’s art competition asking them to produce an A4 piece of art entitled ‘Cool Hoole’. The competition will be judged by Corrie’s Ian Puleston-Davies and the winning artwork will be displayed in Art At 41 – a local art gallery in Hoole.
The running order for musical acts on the day is as follows:
11.00 Karamba Samba Parade
11.30 House of Dance
