Eat that frog!by Andrew Caira, Oct 2017
“If it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the biggest one first.”
– Mark Twain –
The most important tasks that will help us move forward in life are usually not the easiest, which is why we tend to procrastinate on completing them.
There are many people who don’t realise willpower is a finite resource which weakens throughout the day. If you start off with easy tasks, when it comes time to complete the most important (and often more difficult) tasks, you will be much less likely to complete them.
The term “eat that frog” (which is something I heard during my training at Well Polished HQ) explains that by doing the most important and difficult tasks on your plate first thing in the morning you will find the rest of the day a breeze by comparison.
By prioritising your tasks and working on the hardest or most important ones first, you are much more likely to complete them and build positivity for the rest of the day.
Making a list of tasks and prioritising them is something that we suggest our clients do in preparation for their weekly cleaner visit. It ensures their house will be cleaned the way they like it whilst also making the cleaner’s life easier. With a clear plan to follow the cleaners can work more efficiently and focus all their time and energy on the most important jobs.
Everybody wins! Happy clients, happy cleaners and lots of sparkling clean homes!
So, if you’re sitting reading this feeling overwhelmed with household chores and cleaning tasks but have been putting off hiring a cleaner, eat that frog right now and give Well Polished Paisley a call. We’re here to help take care of your weekly cleaning so that you don’t have to.
