“My wife and I run a small personal training studio in Gravesend. For years we’ve cleaned the studio ourselves, but recently decided to hire a professional cleaning company to help keep the place looking its best. We chose Well Polished Dartford for a weekly 4-hour clean. At first, they seemed professional, friendly, and eager to help. We explained that the studio needed to be cleaned in a specific way and only when clients weren’t present, as cleaning during sessions would interfere with workouts. Over time, we were provided with several different cleaners, but unfortunately none of them met the standard we were hoping for. The cleaning often felt rushed, inconsistent, and didn’t really add any benefit compared to what my wife and I were already doing ourselves. We therefore decided to stop using the service and continue cleaning the studio ourselves. One of the cleaners had become friendly with my wife during this time and later accepted an offer for some yoga and personal training sessions. Shortly afterwards, we received an email from Well Polished demanding £700, accusing us of taking their cleaner for private work and claiming we had breached their terms and conditions. When we asked for evidence and a signed agreement showing we had accepted these terms, none was provided. Instead, we were sent screenshots of terms that had never been properly explained to us or signed. Despite repeatedly asking for proof, we were met with demands for payment and threats of court action. The whole experience has been extremely stressful and upsetting. What started as an attempt to support a local business and make life a little easier ended with accusations, demands for money, and legal threats. Based on our experience, I would strongly advise anyone considering this company to read all terms very carefully and proceed with caution. Sadly, this experience has completely put me off using a cleaning agency again. 1 star.”
